Senator Sharafadeen Alli has described the Supreme Court ruling which validated the victory of President Bola Tinubu in the disputed 25 February presidential election as a vindication of the people’s choice.
The Supreme Court, today, upheld the victory of Tinubu and Shettima but which was challenged by the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), Alhaji Abubakar Atiku and Mr Peter Obi, respectively.
Alli, the Senate Committee Chairman on INEC, expressed joy at the verdict by the Supreme Court, describing it as a vindication of the people’s choice.
He said the ruling by the Supreme Court was a reflection of the fact that the Tinubu/Shettima joint presidential ticket was a mandate freely given by Nigerians.
The lawmaker expressed the hope that President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima would continue to lead with integrity and transparency to make Nigeria a better country for all.
Alli, who represents Oyo South Senatorial District, urged the opposition to accept the judgment and work with the government to move the country forward.
He said Nigerians gave the All Progressives Congress (APC) the mandate to govern the country, urging the opposition to accept the ruling by the Supreme Court and respect the will of the people.
The APC lawmaker assured that Tinubu and Shettima’s leadership would bring more development projects, better infrastructure and more prosperity for Nigerians.
He added that the president and his deputy have the experience, knowledge and vision to steer the country towards greatness.
Alli called on Nigerians to support the current administration and work together to build a better Nigeria.
The APC federal lawmaker said, with unity, hard work and determination, Nigeria would become a prosperous and peaceful nation.
