Chairman/CEO of Ilaji Hotels and Sports Resort, Chief Jubril Dotun Sanusi, has gifted the Oyo State Contingent to the ongoing 8th National Youth Games with cash rewards.
Though the sporting event will be coming to an end tomorrow, 19 September, Sanusi, a philanthropist and sports enthusiast, gifted the Oyo contingent with some token amounts, having hauled in 25 medals so far.
The eight edition of the National Youth Games, holding at the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, Delta State, commenced on 9 September.
Sanusi announced a symbolic donation of ₦5,000 for every gold medal, ₦3,000 for silver, and ₦2,000 for bronze, respectively.
The gesture has reportedly boosted the morale of the contingent and significantly motivated the team to do more, as the games comes to an end tomorrow.
“The announcement sparked excitement within the Team Oyo Camp, with players, coaches and officials expressing joy and gratitude.
“Sanusi, a businessman of note and the Chairman/CEO of Ilaji Hotels, Sports and Resort, has been a beacon of hope for all sports enthusiasts in the state and has carved a niche for himself in various endeavours,” it was stated.
With the closing ceremony of the 8th National Youth Games coming up tomorrow, 19 September, Team Oyo currently holds 10 gold, three silver, and nine bronze medals.
