Frontline politician, Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarunmi, has charged the Muslim Ummah to celebrate the Eid-el-Maolud with love and oneness.
Gbolarumi, who is the Balogun Musulumi of Ibadanland, gave the charge in a message to felicitate with Islamic faithful on the occasion of the celebration of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
He called on the Muslim Ummah to reflect on the lessons in the life of the Prophet and reach out to their fellow humans with love.
According to the former deputy governor who is also a lawyer, Eid-el-Maolud is not only a time of celebration, but also a moment of reflection and with a heart of gratitude to Allah.
“My Muslim Ummah in Oyo State and across the country, I hope that this message will meet you in good health and joyfulness of heart.
“It is a good thing that we are all alive to witness another joyous occasion of Eid-el-Maolud, the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
“Looking back at all we have passed through, as a people and as a country, in the last one year, this year’s Eid-el-Maolud, indeed, calls for celebrations.
“It is by the grace and infinite mercies of the Almighty Allah that we are alive today to witness this occasion. We are not in anyway better than those that have passed on to the great beyond.
“As we are celebrating, we should also remind ourselves that we need to reflect deeply on the lessons in the life of the Prophet who we are celebrating.
“Eid-el-Maolud is a time of reflection and gratitude to Allah as we commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
“It is a moment to honour His essence, His teachings of love, compassion, unity, and justice. These are immortals teachings which have continue to inspire millions of people around the world.
“Let us strive to emulate the Prophet’s character and actions by showing love and understanding to one another, regardless of our differences.
“We should continually seek to embrace love and spread same to our fellow humans, irrespective of of tribe or creed. We are all one and same before our creator.
“We should be deliberate in reaching out to others in love, peace and unity. We should continue to pray for peace in homes, in our state and in our country.
“My family and I join the Muslim Ummah around the world in celebrating this auspicious occasion. We pray that it ushers is into greater love, peace, happiness, and prosperity.
“As we gather with friends and family to celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Maolud, may it serve as a reminder of the importance of kindness and empathy in our lives.
“May our homes be filled with love, and may our hearts be touched by the blessings of this day. I wish you all Happy Eid-el-Maolud,” Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi added.
