2 Rescued, Scores Trapped In Collapsed 21-Storey Building
Two persons have been so far rescued from a 21-storey building which collapsed in Lagos.
This was just as scores of other people remain trapped beneath the rubbles of the building.
The rescued victims were given first aid treatment and have been rushed to a hospital, which location was not disclosed for further medical attention.
Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) arrived at the scene with their equipments to commence the rescue operation.
Meanwhile, the deputy governor of Lagos State, has visited the scene of the incident, as eyewitnesses said some workers, including the owner, may be among those trapped in the collapsed building.
The building, which is still under construction with several structure and artistic functions still in process, is located on Gerard Road in upscale Ikoyi on Lagos Island.
