Joash is the Senior Pastor of The Great House Nation Church, located at former BJ Rentals Building, beside Sanngo Cemetery, Ibadan.
The embattled cleric was arrested in his church by policemen and remanded in prison following a report by the victims of his alleged fraudulent act.
Joash was alleged to have obtained the sum of ₦134,823,750 from a victim; ₦30 million from another; ₦135,177,750 from one and ₦5,881,000 from another victim totalling ₦305,882,500.
He was said to have collected the money from the four people to help them to procure Work Placement (or Recruitment) Certificate, a document for those intending to migrate to the UK for healthcare job.
Pastor Joash allegedly charged between £3,500 and £5,500 per candidate but failed to provide the certificates for his victims, after one year.
He was said to have been sneaking in and out of the country to avoid being seen by the three people he allegedly defrauded.
The Oyo State Police Command arraigned Joash on a 10-count charge bordering on obtaining money under false pretence, an offence punishable under Criminal Code of the Laws of the state.
On his arraignment at a magistrate court in Ibadan on 30 October, 2023, Pastor Joash however pleaded ‘Not guilty’ to the charges.
The court admitted him to a N10million bail with two sureties in like sum and who must be gainfully employed and must be ready to deposit their international passports.
One other condition for granting him bail was that one of the sureties must also have property in Iyaganku GRA, Ibadan.
The case of obtaining money under false pretence against the embattled pastor was adjourned to 18 December, 2023 for mention.
